Problem to Solve
Create a website for a business local to Arlington, Texas. I chose J.R. Bentley’s, a British pub I frequent with my friends.
Creative SOLUTION
This project started with a photoshoot and a conversation. I took many photos of the establishment for reference and inspiration and was able to interview the owner at the time, Danna Ladd. At the end of the interview I was given records, documents, and old photos of the establishment to research through. With J.R. Bentley’s being right off campus, I wanted my target audience to be college age adults and every creative decision was based on this. Taking into account other similar establishments, I needed to find a way to stand apart from nearby competitors.
Paying respect to the British theme of the pub, I merged a college aesthetic into the redesign. UTA is one of the most diverse universities in the country so I wanted to make sure that different ethnic races were represented in the website. I wanted potential customers to see they belong and encourage them to grab a pint.
